SHARP Educator (Part-Time, Variable Hours)

Overview 

SHARP Flex Educators play a vital role in delivering SHARP’s mission by facilitating one-hour, hands-on workshops for students in grades K3–5 using SHARP’s STEAM-based curriculum and materials. This position offers an exciting opportunity to enjoy a highly flexible schedule (2–20 hours per week, not guaranteed), perfect for those seeking meaningful work that fits their lifestyle. Educators should be comfortable using technology and engaging elementary students in interactive learning experiences. 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Facilitate engaging one-hour workshops using arts integration and grade-level computer-based coding to reinforce STEAM concepts.  
  • Create an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment that promotes experiential learning.  
  • Adapt workshops to meet the diverse needs of SHARP students.  
  • Administer student reflections following each session.  
  • Coordinate and schedule workshops with assigned teachers in a timely manner.  
  • Participate in SHARP-provided professional development sessions. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, computer science, technology, the arts, or a related field preferred.  
  • One or more years of experience teaching or working in an urban school setting with diverse student populations preferred.  
  • Experience teaching STEAM content to elementary students or willingness to learn.  
  • Strong technology skills and problem-solving ability; prior coding experience is a plus.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word) and email communication.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and reliability.  
  • Must have reliable transportation.  
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required.
